Ingredients:
2 cups Thai Jasmin Rice
1 pkg Nasoya Tofu Dumplings
Fresh Broccoli Florets (frozen not recommended*)
1 Med Onion - chopped
2 Tbsp Minced Garlic
¼ Tsp Sea Salt
¼ Tsp Black Pepper
1 Tsp Onion Powder
1 Tsp Garlic Powder
2 Tbsp Corn Starch
2 Tsp Hoisen Sauce
2 Tsp Sweet Soy Sauce
2 TSP Low Sodium Soy Sauce
1 ½ cups of water
2 Tbsp Grapeseed Oil
Brown Sugar
Clover Sprouts (optional garnish*)
Sauce for Dipping:
4 Tbsp Low Sodium Soy Sauce
4 Tbsp water
1 Tsp Sesame oil
2 Tbsp Raw Cane Sugar
3 Tsp Rice Vinegar
½ Tsp Black Pepper *optional
Pepper flakes *optional
1 Tsp chopped green onion *optional
Instructions.
Rice:
1. Follow instructions on pkg for desired amount of rice.
Dumplings:
1. Follow instructions on pkg for desired dumplings. (I usually fry half then, boil the other half because I prefer having both textures.)
Stir Fry:
1. In a large heated skillet or pot, add 2 Tbsp grapeseed oil, chopped onions. Sautee about 2 mins until translucent then add the minced garlic. Sautee garlic another 20 secs then add the fresh broccoli Florets. Season to taste with onion powder, garlic powder, sea salt & black Pepper. Sautee florets about 2 mins.
2. Remove Florets and set aside.
3. Using the same skillet/pot, re-heat to med high heat. Add water, hoisen, sweet soy, low sodium soy sauce & brown sugar. Bring to a simmer then, sprinkle in corn starch. Whisk well, removing all lumps. Cook for about 2 mins then - add Broccoli Florets into sauce.
4. Toss Broccoli Florets in sauce. Taste and adjust seasonings.
Dipping Sauce:
1. Mix all ingredients in a bowl and stir until sugar is dissolved. You can also make the sauce 1 day ahead of time. This will ensure all sugar is dissolved. The sauce will also slightly thicken. If you don’t want to make the sauce ahead of time, you can mix these ingredients over low heat.
Plate: Scoop a nice helping of rice onto a plate then, top with your delicious Florets. Add Clover sprouts on top as a fresh garnish. Add desired amount of dumplings & dipping sauce on the side. Enjoy!
